“Waveland State Historic Site, once the home-place of the early Kentucky Bryan family, is arguably one of the best kept secrets in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It’s amazing that many Kentuckians have spent their whole lives in or near Lexington and never visited this historic icon. Tens of thousands drive by the large Waveland sign on Nicholasville Road daily, obviously having no idea of the exhibited Kentucky treasures or the historical significance of this Kentucky landmark. is is about to change! Bob Willcutt and Susan Miller’s book, Waveland’s Treasures, captures the essence of the Waveland plantation, putting this exciting and important story of early Lexington and the Bryan family at one’s fingertips.”

“Named for the wave-like rolling hills that make up the home’s property, Waveland, considered by many to be the finest example of Greek Revival architecture within the Commonwealth of Kentucky, sits atop like a mighty ship. The site is a gem of our State Parks system that, through its preservation, collection of artifacts, and period interpretation, not only displays the past but makes one feel history.”
